It’s been a creative month at I Can Compose HQ and we’ve published another new composing resource to support students in the classroom and save music teachers time creating materials.

This 33-page A4 composition resource pack presents 3 versatile activities for the secondary classroom.

What does the resource include?

The Composing Activities Resource Pack can be downloaded and printed (colour or black & white) and we would advise laminating the sheets so that they last longer!

Pack includes:

Clear instructions for each activity, with suggestions for extension and differentiation plus photos of the set up.

3 activities suitable for 11-18 years (suggested levels provided on the instruction sheets):

  • Get Composing cards – a fun starter activity to get students composing quickly.
  • Chord cards – a versatile activity to support students with learning how to construct different types of chords.
  • Group Composing activity – a whole lesson activity encouraging students to compose collaboratively and revise key words through active listening.

How do I download the resource pack?

The Composing Activities Resource Pack is available to purchase as an individual product or it is included in our popular Teacher Access Plan.
