We’re really looking forward to the Music Teachers Association Conference at the Warwick Schools Foundation, 15-17 May 2026.
The countdown to May is officially on, and the team at I Can Compose couldn’t be more thrilled. We’re delighted to announce that we will be exhibiting at the Music Teachers Association (MTA) Conference 2026!
The MTA Conference has always been a highlight of the academic calendar – a rare moment for music educators to step away from the busyness of the classroom, coursework administration and extra-curricular activities, and reconnect with colleagues whilst attending valuable CPD sessions. This year promises to be particularly special (Keynote and singing session with Sir John Rutter!), and we can’t wait to see you there.
Visit Us at the Stand
Throughout the event, our stand will be a hub of activity. Whether you are a long-time subscriber to our resources or you’re simply looking for some fresh ways to get your students composing with confidence, please come and say hello. We’ll be showcasing our latest digital resources, discussing the evolving landscape of music education, and – most importantly – listening to your stories about what’s working in your classrooms.

Hands-on composing session
I’m really looking forward to leading a practical session: Listen, Loop and Launch. We’re going to be mixing ‘traditional’ composing techniques with sound exploration and creating a piece of music that you can take back to your classroom.
Using the very techniques we champion at I Can Compose, we’ll work through a structured, accessible framework and you’ll see how adaptable it is. I’ve used this project in several different settings – each one has been tweaked to suit the students and resources that were available – and by the end of the session you’ll walk away with a completed piece (and the lesson plan behind it) to take back to your classroom and share with your students.
Do bring your own laptop if possible, so that you can use your preferred DAW, although I believe there will be some computers available at the venue (running Cubase).

Join the Conversation
The MTA Conference is about more than just professional development; it’s about community. The opportunity to gather, share a coffee (and cake!), and talk shop is invaluable.
