Student Listening Guide

What should I focus on when I’m listening to music?  How will it help me with my own composing activities?  Should I just copy what other composers do?

This two-page A4 listening guide has been written to help KS4 & 5 students (14 – 18 year olds) make connections between listening and composing.  It includes guidance on what to listen to and focus on, with clear headings and question prompts.  Students can use it as a reference guide whenever listening to a piece of music.

To take it further students can record their observations in the KS4 Listening Journal or KS5 Listening Journal (each includes level-specific glossary)
