There’s no right or wrong way to start composing – everyone’s different! Some people like to sit down at the piano and try out a chord sequence; somebody else might prefer to improvise on an instrument; another person might start with a piece of text and try singing / rapping / whispering or shouting it.
This resource shows students that there are lots of musical ways in to composing. It’s all about experimenting and having a go!
